Actually there are Supras tuned to put out probably around 1500hp. Just a guess there, but if twin turbo vipers that have 1700-1900hp have 1/4 mile times of around 8 seconds, and a 3500lb Supra can hit mid 7's, then the inline 6 is doing more than you give it credit for.
