I like both, but if I had a spare 40k lying around I'd get the Subaru.

If you want to spend the money on a nice turn key,then all of you mustang lovers are out of luck only a corvette can make that claim. Its not worth the money when u compare whp to dollar ratio. Also the reason you dont see any million dollar jap cars is because until the late 80's their cars sucked ass. But just wait till a Nismo Sylvia or RX-7 goes for auction 30 years from now. Especially if car companies will pull their head out their asses and realize the potential of the rotary engine instead of the barbaric reciprocating engine.

The GTO created the muscle car revolution and the Mustang created the pony car revolution. The fact that a shelby gt350 can go for a million bucks is because some rich guy wants it that bad and because of its rarity. You only make 35 of a car and theyre gonna be worth something for collectors no matter what. Maybe ford should focus on selling LOTS of cars, rather than fewer seeing as theyre loosing buttloads of money too.

the point is practicality, if you want a 9s snowmobile or a 7s z28, fine, but dont compare it to a car that you can drive to and from work every day. its like comparing a top fuel drag car to a ford focus, why would you even bother? And you really think the 6th gen mustang will be drooled over in 10 years, doubtful. its just like every other POS thats come since 1970. The Mustangs/Camaros/Chargers/GTOs youre talking about created a revolution thus they are history, this mustang and sti arent.

first of all snowmobiles dont weight shit so theyll run 9's, dumbass. a stock motorcycle will run 9's. and who said its all about performance. ya theyre peices of history... peices of history that are WORTH restoring. 50 years from now , this sti will NOT be at an auction selling for 10 million dollars, considered a "classic" and be getting drooled over for it's beauty

true that they are intended for different markets. Muscle car lovers wont love the sti and import lovers may or may not love the GT. The funny thing is, that all the performance points the GT was designed for are beat by the STI. Handling, acceleration, horizontal acceleration, and the sti gets better gas mileage, is far more tunable from factory and nimbly dances around the GT. if you want classic+modern looks, get the GT, if you want modern technology handling, tuneablility and AWD get the STI

so... he owns a race car, whats the point? Can he drive it to work every day without getting pulled over? or without burning up 10 gal of C16 race fuel? who cares if you cant drive it every day? Ive seen snowmobiles that can run 9s 1/4 miles but really, whats the point?

the only reason those cars sell for that price is because the buyers are buying American history. I got a navajo clay pot worth over $1400 that my grandma bought for $100 10 years ago. the only reason its worth so much is cause someone will pay that much. remember beenie babies??? Why the hell does Edmunds keep doing these kinds of comparisons? First, the GTO vs the STi. Now this? Muscle car vs rally-bread car makes no sense. True, both are performance oriented cars, but they're geared towards different markets.

No doubt, the sti is a superior car performance wise but they made the car look so gay its unbelievable. How do you make a badass performance car but give such a shitty look to it? Thats just something I would never buy no matter how fast it is

there is no way on earth that a mustang can be better than a subaru. i am an EVO fan but i have to admit: in crash tests, the impreza is the most resistent car made today, second, the boxer engine they use is more efficient than any other motor that can compete against it. mustang has a serious problem in transmiting all its engine power to the ground. that is a problem with every car that fits under the category of american mussle. the impreza owns the mustang in gas consumption eny time
