i never said you'd swap the engine in a skyline and i don't think that a skyline would beat an f40 without serious money and time put into it (don't forget that time has value). if i was a lawyer making 300 an hour, every ten hours i spent working on my skyline to make it faster would be worth three grand. so, pay 40,000 for the skyline, another twenty for the parts, and then spend two hundred hours ordering it and putting it together and that's 150,000 and half a year gone.

you're right, i never have owned a ferrari before and, depending on what career path I choose, might never own one. however, i don't think that has any bearing on what i said. and yes, i have been to tracks and paddocks and seen competitive cars, as long as you count ALMS and F1 cars as competitive. i'm sure competitive cars are high maintenance. but not all ferrari cars are high maintenance. and my main point was that some people don't want to build their cars in a garage.

thanks for saying i'm funny, but i'm guessing you don't really mean it. if one was to try and take a supra or civic or whatever car and make it competitive with ferraris and such, it would take many different parts that aren't necessarily easy for the layman to get hold of. it also takes a lot of skill. if a ferrari breaks down, there is a full support network of dealers and the factory to help with maintenance. would the toyota factory help when you needed a new part for your tuned supra?

sorry, man, i haven't seen top gear in a while, been too busy doing other things and haven't had time to download the recent episodes. i was merely referring to jeremy's comments on the ferrari 360 cs, the ferrari f355, the ferrari f40, the ferrari f430, and the enzo, each of which he said was "perfect" or "the greatest car in the world. ever" in different episodes. and to be fair, i'm probably not as stupid as you think since you don't know anything about me.
