The TL-01 is a Cheap but good car, and if you're not happy with it you can always upgrade any part you like. How can you say its a crappy car when you haven't looked "under the hood" yet? The reason it drifts so bad is probably because he hasn't glued/locked the differential gear, making it just spin out instead of drifting.

if he has a 13 turn motor, and a 3600mAh battery, he's got some money into that car, because with those, he needs an ESC, and a pretty good one to run that motor.
