no, Mercedes Benz is the best OVERALL in the world, Bentley, ever heard of Maybach? Performance goes all the way. they cost so much because of the quality, when a car is made, the pricing department give the car a price depending on quality, options and technology.

There's no such thing as "the best car". Merc is better than Mustang period and yes that's why it costs more. But when you compare Merc performancewise to other cars it's not the fastest one. If you decide to compare its luxury part, ever heard of Bentleys?

comparing Amgs to Fords is like comparing a Boeing to a Cessena, simply no basis for compariosn.AMG is light years ahead of ford in automotive technology design and performance.

Yeah witacolt the mustang driver seemed to hold back a bit but naturally the mustang still seemed like did or would have a little bodyroll. I'm not making fun of saleens mustangs or 'stangs in general but I've never seen a amg mercedes driven that fast before so I'm just glad to see an amg driven properly (in turns) :).

to me didnt look like a race. more looked like the s65s driver was in a bigger hurry.. and any smart mustang driver wouldnt choose to race an exotic on a curvey road right when you start..

It was most likely an 1/8 mile track if you saw 9.6 not a full 1/4 mile. and yes sdolzani I agree on the AMG great ride for the family! luxury and quick. WOW a 2006 s65 at 50% off...I would beware of that buy...sounds too good to be true. 800HP at the crank...someone upped the boost on that one hehe...not stock by any means. and to see something that heavy run 10s is amazing! and as heavy as they are I would expect them to hook...thats a lot of weight on the rear end :)

I have had my share of mustangs, but the best cars I have owned were AMG's. I just bought my wife a used E500 4matic, she's pregnant, I will buy another AMG before any mustang, I saw a 2006 s65 in NY w/10K miles for $79,000? Sounds too cheap right? Anyway, I like speed,if it happens to be one of the nicest luxery cars as well, then that is great, best of both worlds! I have seen videos of sl65 Renntech's going 10.70's at only about 130 on drag radials, they hook!! About 800hp ,crank, 1000ftlbs

I guess if u don't believe it then maybe you should consult SPEED tv not me...I just saw what I saw and the clock said 9.6sec at the dragstrip and I don't know what MPH was....I was shocked when I saw it...thats why I looked the car up online...I can't imagine they would have lied about a time on tv
