The 2nd gen trannies were made by Muncie and are a lot stronger than the Izuzu based trannies in the 3rd gen cars. And doing powerslides killed nothing more than the tires. It was flat shifting on the dragstrip that killed all of those transmissions.

I put less than $1200 into it and won alot more money than that from dipsh!ts like you who's mouth was bigger than their motor.

I know someone with a 3400 with a turbo using the stock tranny in his 01 cavy, and hasnt needed to replace it yet! Hes getting about 400 hp to the wheels. Its because you were doing stuff like a 2:30 that was making you replace transmissions.

Well, you gotta know you have to pay to play. Be prepared to go through at least one transmission a year at those power levels. Unfortunately, no one makes beefed up parts for those trannies. I'd have kept it if it weren't for that.
