He is an idiot. And looking away from the vehicle while raising his arm in "triumph" certainly adds many points for idiocy. I would even feel sorry for him if a) He had remained in the vehicle to operate it and something went wrong. b) He was holding a remote kill switch that malfunctioned. Neither of these seem to be the case. So he deserved exactly what he got. It's fortunate he didn't harm anyone else.
