I've had the same motor in my K-5 since I bough the truck (motor was a crate motor bored to a 383) I beat the FUCK outta my truck, I have a led foot and the goddamn thing still runs as strong as the day I bought it! It should be Dodge: Suspension, Chevy: body Ford: . . .everything!

the way i figure is that what ever you want to fix and you think is easiest thats the truck you should go with at least with the older vehicle Dodge it the tranny, Fords the rear ends, Chevys the motors. Which ever you think is easiest for you is the one you should go with.

Oh by the way, if you are implying that the IFS suspension system pales in comparison to the solid axle, it'd be about time Ford got something right(by default really). I dont own a newer Chev but I have buddies that do and they all say the same thing, "It's all in how you build it".
