I always heard the diesels in their cars were good motors. Just think about how many miles the Cummins that Tom Olding (Million mile Cummins)owns could go if he wouldnt have pulled 9,600 lb trailers for a million miles with it.

I've heard that too about the 6.0. But the car Mercedes diesels are the bomb. Mine has the OM617 5 cylinder. The world record longevity of a car was a 1957 mercedes 240D, or 200D, not sure which. It had well over 1 million miles on it. Never rebuilt or anything. And yes they are gutless like mine, but they will keep on running.

I was never impressed with any 6.0 I rode in, but they were in the shop all the time, so maybe thats why.The Freightliner I drive at work has a Mercedes in it and I hate it. It has so much turbo lag its ridiculous.Its a gutless wonder. It's been in the shop 4 times and only has 70,000 on it. Its way under powered for the weight of the truck, but thats how the railroad orders all of their trucks.

I'm pretty sure a 6.0 will kill a cum a part any day. Cummins blow. My friend has one and it is always breaking down, and it only has 98,000 on it. It's a pile. I've never seen a cummins with over 300K on it. The engine will outlast the truck. I've done countless front ends on those piles. P.O.S mopar, good thing they are going under FIRST.
